Calibrating the Hands on the Withings ScanWatch
- Make sure your Withings ScanWatch is fully charged. A low battery can affect the process, so ensure that the watch has sufficient power.
- Download and install the Health Mate app from the App Store or Google Play Store if you haven't already. This app is necessary to control the settings of your ScanWatch.
Connect Your Watch to the App
- Open the Health Mate app on your smartphone. Ensure that Bluetooth is enabled on your phone to allow the app to connect with your ScanWatch.
- If your watch is not already paired, follow the in-app instructions to pair your watch with your phone. It may ask you to create an account if you haven't done so.
Calibrate the Watch Hands
- In the Health Mate app, navigate to the Devices tab. Select your ScanWatch from the list of connected devices.
- Look for the option named "Set the time manually" or something similar. This option allows you to synchronize and calibrate the hands.
- Follow the in-app instructions to move the hands to the correct 12:00 position. Use the app to adjust the minute and hour hands until they perfectly align at the 12 o'clock position.
- Save your settings. The watch should now automatically adjust to show the correct time.
Troubleshooting Common Issues
- If the hands don't move or behave erratically during calibration, ensure the watch is near your phone and there are no obstructions interfering with the Bluetooth connection.
- If the issue persists, try restarting both your phone and the watch, then attempt the process again.
- Ensure your app and watch firmware are up to date. Sometimes, updates resolve bugs that might interfere with calibration.
Reset as a Last Resort
- If recalibration and updates do not solve the problem, consider resetting the watch to its factory settings. This can often fix persistent glitches.
- Find the reset option in the Health Mate app under your ScanWatch's settings. Follow the instructions carefully.
- After a reset, you will need to set up your watch again, but this might solve the issue completely.
