Check the Power Button
- Ensure that you are pressing the power button firmly enough. Sometimes a gentle press may not be sufficient.
- Press and hold the power button for 10–15 seconds to see if the device turns on.
Charge the Device
- Connect your Kobo Clara to a charger and leave it charging for at least an hour.
- Use the original charger and USB cable if possible, as third-party chargers might not work as effectively.
- After an hour, try turning on the device again.
Perform a Soft Reset
- Press and hold the power button for 20 seconds, then release it.
- Wait a few seconds, then press the power button again to try turning it on.
Check for Loose Connections
- Slightly wiggle the charging port of your device to see if it's loose or if the cable is not fitting well.
- Try using a different USB cable or charger to ensure it's not a cable issue.
Perform a Hard Reset
- If your Kobo Clara is still not turning on, perform a hard reset (note: this will erase all data on your device).
- Connect the device to a power source.
- Press and hold the power button and the refresh button (if available) simultaneously for 30 seconds.
- Release both buttons and wait for the device to boot up.
Inspect for Physical Damage
- Check for any cracks or visible damage on the screen or device body.
- If you find any damage, it might need professional repair.
