Download the Signal App
- Visit the official Signal website at signal.org to find the download link for your platform.
- Alternatively, search for "Signal" in your device's app store: App Store for iOS, Google Play Store for Android, or your desktop's software center.
- Ensure that the app is from "Signal Foundation" to download the correct application.
Install the Signal App
- Once downloaded, open the app from your device’s home screen or application drawer.
- Follow your device’s instructions to complete the installation.
- Grant any required permissions, such as access to your contacts or media, for full app functionality.
Register Your Phone Number
- Open the Signal app after installation completes.
- Signal will prompt you to enter your phone number. Input your number and tap "Next" or "Continue."
- You’ll receive a confirmation code via SMS. Enter this code into the app to verify your number.
Set Up a Profile
- After verifying your phone number, you’re required to set up a profile.
- Input your preferred name; this will be visible to your Signal contacts.
- Optionally, add a profile picture by either taking a new photo or selecting one from your library.
Create a Personal PIN
- Signal will prompt you to create a personal PIN for additional security.
- This PIN adds a layer of protection and is used for features like identity verification and registration lock.
- Select a PIN that is easy for you to remember but hard for others to guess, and confirm it as directed.
Complete Setup
- Signal might ask for additional permissions or settings adjustments depending on your device.
- Grant any additional necessary permissions for the app to function correctly.
