Download Telegram App
- Visit the Google Play Store (for Android users) or the Apple App Store (for iOS users) on your smartphone.
- Search for the "Telegram" app by typing "Telegram" in the search bar.
- Select the app from the search results and click on "Install" (for Android) or "Get" (for iOS) to download and install the app on your device.
Open the Telegram App
- After installation is complete, tap on the Telegram icon on your home screen or app menu to open the app.
Start Creating a New Account
- On the welcome screen, tap on the "Start Messaging" button.
- Telegram will prompt you to enter your phone number. Make sure to enter a valid phone number, as this is crucial for the verification process.
Verify Your Phone Number
- After entering your phone number, tap on the "Next" button.
- Telegram will send a verification code to the phone number you provided. Input the code you receive via SMS into the designated field in the app.
- If you do not receive the code, you can choose to have Telegram call your phone to provide the code verbally.
Set Up Your Profile
- Once your phone number is verified, Telegram will prompt you to enter your first and last name. These will be your display names on Telegram.
- You can also upload a profile picture by tapping on the camera icon. This step is optional and can also be done later.
Explore Telegram Features
- After setting up your profile, you will be directed to the Telegram main interface.
- You can start a conversation by tapping the pencil icon, search and join groups or channels, and explore other features such as calls and media sharing.
