Start with Basic Troubleshooting
- Make sure your Misfit Ray is correctly connected to the Misfit app on your smartphone. Sometimes, simply reconnecting or ensuring that your device is in sync can resolve the issue.
- Check if the device has sufficient battery power. A low battery can sometimes result in malfunction or improper tracking of steps.
Reset the Misfit Ray
- Perform a reset by tapping the Misfit Ray 3 times in quick succession. This is a soft reset that can help resolve many minor issues.
- If a soft reset does not work, you may want to remove the battery completely and insert it back after a minute. This action serves as a hard reset for the device.
Check the App Settings
- Navigate to the settings in your Misfit app to ensure that step tracking is enabled. Sometimes, it might accidentally be disabled, causing the Misfit Ray not to count steps.
- Update the app to the latest version. Outdated software can sometimes cause syncing and tracking issues.
Ensure Proper Device Placement
- Wearing the Misfit Ray on your dominant wrist might result in less accurate step tracking. Consider wearing it on your non-dominant wrist.
- Make sure it is snug and not too loose. If the device moves around too much, it might not accurately detect your steps.
Contact Customer Support
- If none of the above steps work, reach out to Misfit's customer support for assistance. They may have additional troubleshooting steps or can determine if your device needs replacement.
