Setting Up Time-Based Triggers in Google Home
- Use the Google Home app on your smartphone. This is the main hub for controlling your Google smart devices and settings.

Create a Time-Based Routine

- Once you’ve added the necessary actions, review your settings. Ensure the actions that need to repeat are checked and saved appropriately.
Troubleshooting Time-Based Triggers
- If your routine isn't running as expected, check the time settings in the Google Home app and on your smartphone. Sometimes, incorrect or mismatched time zones can cause issues.
- Make sure your devices are connected to the internet. Time-based routines require an active internet connection to trigger commands through the cloud.
- Try to restart your Google Home device. Unplug it and wait for about 10 seconds before plugging it back in. This can sometimes resolve simple connectivity issues.
- Update the Google Home app and ensure your device firmware is updated. Outdated software can often cause unexpected glitches in your smart home routines.
Testing and Adjusting Your Routine
- Test the setup by tweaking the time of the routine to an upcoming few minutes, allowing you to observe if it triggers correctly.
- If the trigger works successfully, reset it to your preferred time. If not, recheck the routine settings and actions to troubleshoot any misconfigurations.
