How to ask Omi about your past conversations
By the Omi Team · October 8, 2026 · 4 min read

Omi's Chat answers from everything it has captured: your conversations, memories and tasks. Instead of scrolling back through transcripts, you ask a question and get the answer.
How Chat works
When you ask something in Chat, Omi uses your conversations, memories and tasks as context. So the answer comes from what was actually said around you, not from the internet.
Questions to try in your first week
At the end of the day
- "What did I promise to do today?"
- "Summarize my conversations from today."
At work
- "What were the main decisions from my last three client meetings?"
- "What did Sam say about the deadline?" Swap in any name and topic.
- "What did I agree to in this morning's meeting?"
With people
- "What was the name of the person I met at lunch?"
- "What did my sister say she wanted for her birthday?"
For yourself
- "Remind me what I told Omi about my sleep and workouts last month."
- "What ideas did I talk about this week?"
Getting better answers
- 1Name the person or topic. "What did Priya say about the budget?" beats "What did they say?"
- 2Give a time window. Add "this morning", "yesterday" or "last week" to point Omi at the right conversations.
- 3Follow up. Ask a second question in the same chat to go deeper, like "And what did we decide to do about it?"

Apps that add more ways to ask
In the Apps tab you'll find apps built for querying your memories in different ways, like CRM-style views of the people you talk to. Try one once you've built up a few days of conversations.
