Where Omi sits on you changes how clean your transcripts are. A few small habits make a big difference, especially in loud rooms.

Ways to wear it

Omi comes with a metal chain, a wrist band and a silicone case. Most people wear it on the chain. If you'd rather keep it on your arm, the Omi Wrist Band is in the box too.

The best spot: chest height, facing out

On the chain, Omi sits at chest height, close enough to hear you and the person in front of you. Keep the front of the device facing outward, away from your body.

Keep it clear

  • Avoid rubbing. Omi picks up the sound of it brushing against clothes or hair, which adds noise to your transcript.
  • Keep it uncovered. A scarf or jacket over the device can muffle the audio.
  • In loud places, speak a little closer to the device and a little more clearly.

Set up your speech profile

In the app, set up your speech profile. It takes a minute, and it helps Omi recognize your voice in conversations with other people.

Keep your phone with you

Omi sends audio to the app on your phone, so keep your phone in your pocket or bag while you wear it.

Frequently asked questions

Can I wear Omi on my wrist?

Yes, with the Omi Wrist Band, which comes in the box.

Does Omi work under clothing?

It works best uncovered. Fabric over the device can muffle what it hears.
