How to use Omi in meetings

Meetings are where Omi pays off fastest: no notes, a clean summary and a task list when it ends. It works best when everyone in the room knows it's on.

Say it up front

One sentence at the start is enough. Most people are glad someone else is taking notes.

“I'm wearing Omi so I don't have to take notes. I'll send everyone the summary after.”

A few other ways to say it:

  • Client meeting: "Mind if I use Omi to take notes? I'll share the summary so we're on the same page."
  • Team standup: "Omi's on, so the action items will be in Todoist after this."
  • One-on-one: "I'm using Omi so I can listen instead of typing. Want me to turn it off for any of this?"

What you get afterwards

When the meeting ends, Omi turns it into a Conversation with a transcript, a summary, key points and action items. Anything someone committed to lands in your Tasks tab, and from there in your task manager if you've connected one.

Share the summary

Send the summary from the app after the meeting. It's the fastest follow-up you'll ever write, and it shows people what they agreed to.

Pause it when you need to

For private moments, mute recording in the app. Turn it back on when you're ready.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need everyone's permission?

It depends on where you are. Some places need everyone's consent. When in doubt, ask at the start of the meeting.

Can other people see my conversations?

Your conversations stay in your account. Others see a summary only if you share it.
